Role: Data Lead – Enterprise Data Engineering (Banking Sector)

Experience Required: 10+ years

Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Data Lead with deep expertise in ETL frameworks, data lake architecture, and Apache Iceberg. This role requires someone with strong hands-on technical capabilities, leadership in designing scalable data pipelines, and the ability to mentor junior engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and optimize large-scale ETL/ELT pipelines for structured and unstructured data.
• Implement data lake solutions using Apache Iceberg on cloud-native platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Ensure data governance, version control, schema evolution, and ACID compliance using Iceberg.
• Collaborate with Data Scientists, Architects, and Product teams to understand business requirements.
• Monitor data pipeline performance and drive improvements and optimizations.
• Perform data quality checks, audits, and documentation.
• Solid expertise in Apache Iceberg and data lake table formats (Delta Lake, Hudi, etc. – but primarily Iceberg).

Qualifications

Required Qualification:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Data Science, or Data Analytics.
• 10+ years of hands-on experience in ETL, SQL, Data Lakes, and Hadoop.
• Proven experience leading technical teams and mentoring junior engineers.
• Strong understanding of banking data domains (e.g., customer, transaction, credit, risk).
• Experience with data governance, metadata management, and data quality frameworks.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and data orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow).
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell).
